We made it to Japan for a buying trip, but not easy!

As you can imagine it was impossible to bring out clients to Japan for this Autumn harvest trip. We had a pretty full trip too.

Japan have very strict rules when it comes to Coronavirus so it was not easy. Applications to the Embassy in London and many emails back and forth to Japan. Luckily for us we have relationships in Japan where we could get the correct paperwork in place to get the business Visa.

The rules were still strict on arrival, testing before I flew and then on arrival in Tokyo. It was only a 20 minute test in Narita and as always, they were 100% official and it wasn’t too much longer than normal. The airport was very quiet though.

The Japanese breeders have done really well, which was a little surprising but not shocked! They have sold thousands of boxes worldwide which is excellent for the industry and I believe many dealers have been really busy, which again, is superb.

We needed to be here as we had 2 clients who also managed to get to Japan from America.

We had our Koitrips USA partner with us and a dealer who specialises in very high class Koi, from Tennessee. Its vital for some dealers to have to see the Koi in person, its impossible to just buy and sell high class Koi from video. They have to have the confidence to be able to sell big money Koi. Its not as easy as people think. Some Koi need to be perfect, and that’s what we find on the Koitrips.

Our Partner in the USA is Fitz Fish Ponds, out of New Jersey, they also have a Sales website here, and then Select Koi out of Tennessee. Fitz is a wholesaler who supplies many dealers all over the USA, and has a 100 Acre farm in New Jersey with huge ponds, full of Japanese Koi.

Select Koi are supplying very beautiful Koi, mostly HUGE Koi too. They have sourced some amazing Jumbo Koi so far this trip! Including a 95cm Red Karashigoi! Amazing!

We are already planning 2 massive shipments to the states next month and January…they wouldn’t fit on one shipment!! So make sure if you are in the USA, you get in touch with these Guys.

As always we are buying the stock Koi for Quality Nishikigoi out of the UK and have found some amazing Koi already with many more to find. Its difficult to update as much as I would like but we are here, and we are busy!!
