Well, I have to admit I was slightly nervous about doing the Harvest today. I didn’t know what to expect from our new guests after seeing some of their crazy Youtube videos! However it was a fun day!
The weather was terrible this morning so we changed to do the harvest in the afternoon. This was a 4yr old pond and there was around 25 pieces in the pond.
As always with Koitrips we try and get the clients as involved as possible and they took full advantage. After a talk with Saito San on what not to do etc, it was all go. I am old so I don’t understand the new wave of social media people but they are becoming a part of the Koi scene in Japan. There have been more this year than any other year, and it’s probably the way the business is going to go in the next generation. The 3 guys with us today have around 3 million subscribers on the Youtube platform and listening to them and hearing their stories has been a real eye opener. Myself and Saito San (Shintaro) just stood back and watched… eyes opened wide!
It was great to see the passion and excitement from the guys, its always great to see people enjoying themselves…even when we have to pause for video taking!
It was a great day for everyone, we laughed a lot!
A huge thank you to Shintaro Koi Farm for allowing us to do this. Was excellent, as always!
After the Harvest the guys were raring to go and buy Koi, which we did. We spent some time at Kazuto picking out some Nisai. Then needed the day watching the sun go down over the mountains. Very cool. We go again tomorrow…
