Yesterday we had 7 new clients visit Japan from the UK and Ireland. They arrived around 10pm last night into Nagaoka Station. Most had been before so knew what to expect but we had one new customer who is a first timer, and a BKKS Trainee Judge and also someone who has not visited since 2004. So it was great seeing how they reacted to the Koi and the mountains today.
We first went to Mushigame village and had a look at Shintaro Koi Farm, Yagenji Koi Farm, Igarashi Koi Farm and Marusho Koi Farm. While driving out we saw Toshi from Isawa Nishikigoi Centre bringing Koi back to their facility in Mushigame. So we quickly followed thwm back and met up with his father Toshio, aka Matsunosuke. We bowled some amazing Koi and he spent some time with the clients which was great.
There was some excited faces around…
This afternoon we went up to a place called Kawaguchi where Shintaro Koi Farm has some mud ponds, we were checking if a 3 year old pond was ready to be harvested as we have Koi in those ponds belonging to Koitrips clients. We also checked on his main pond which is being harvested tomorrow and is one of the best harvests in Japan, its something we bring our clients to every October, one of the highlights.
The pond is huge and houses some HUGE Koi, you will be amazed at the sight.
We also have Koi belonging to clients in this pond, clients who are now with us. We would never usually do a party of guests as big as this one but because they all wanted to see their Koi harvested, it was the only choice! Its a good job they all know each other.
